A Hillside Garden with a View in Tiburon

Our clients sought a solution to their sloped yard, wanting a design that would not only provide a usable outdoor space but also blend seamlessly with the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.
The Design & Features
To bring this vision to life, our landscape design and build team employed a combination of structural hardscape and year-round plantings. The design focused on creating level, accessible zones while maintaining a soft, organic feel that complements the natural landscape. Key features of this project include:
- Tiered Stone Walls & Stairs: To effectively manage the steep grade, we designed and built a series of durable, dry-stacked rock walls and stairs. These hardscape elements not only provide structural integrity and level the slope but also add a rugged, timeless character that feels right at home in the hills.
- Perennial Plants for Year-Round Beauty: A curated selection of perennial grasses and plants was chosen to ensure the garden looks vibrant and appealing throughout the year. This thoughtful planting palette provides a dynamic mix of textures and colors, requiring minimal maintenance and blending effortlessly with the golden hues of the surrounding hills.
- Intimate Water Feature: To add a sense of tranquility and a focal point to the garden, we incorporated an intimate water fountain. The soothing sound of the moving water creates a peaceful atmosphere, inviting contemplation and providing a serene backdrop for the garden’s views.
