Our clients in Northern California’s Wine Country desired a landscape that would both capture the region’s beauty and incorporate advanced sustainable practices. The result is a breathtaking and functional retreat where luxury and eco-consciousness seamlessly coexist.
The Design & Features
To bring this vision to life, our landscape design and build team focused on a holistic approach, integrating modern amenities with systems designed to conserve resources and enhance the natural beauty of the site. Key features of this project include:
- A Bespoke Pool & Spa: The centerpiece of the property is a custom-designed pool and spa. Its free-form shape and natural stone coping create a tranquil oasis that perfectly frames the expansive, rolling hills. The adjacent stone patio provides ample space for sunbathing and enjoying the stunning views.
- Rainwater Harvesting System: This garden operates with sustainability at its core. A large-scale rainwater harvesting system, featuring prominent storage tanks, collects water from the roof to irrigate the entire landscape. This practice significantly reduces reliance on municipal water and showcases a commitment to responsible living.
- Edible & Drought-Tolerant Gardens: The landscape is not only beautiful but also productive. We designed and built a dedicated vegetable garden and a series of beds with a variety of drought-tolerant and native plants. These areas provide a source of food and beauty while requiring minimal water and attracting local pollinators.
- Artful Hardscape & Entry: The property’s entrance is defined by a long flight of concrete stairs and a custom-built, modern metal gate. These elements, along with strategically placed artistic sculptures and a beautiful stone walkway, add a sense of purposeful design and personality to the entire landscape.
The Outcome
